1 Appold Street, LondonThis 1980s steel framed office block with 18m trussed beam/composite floors, comprises seven stories above ground and two basement levels. Hurst Peirce + Malcolm provided structural engineering support for changes in the building services, file storage areas and a data cente during a refurbishment for Deutsche Bank in 2004 with a contract value of £10.5 million. Hurst Peirce + Malcolm were part of the original fit out team in 1984 when Bankers Trust occupied the building prior to their merger with Deutsche Bank.
364 Kensington High Street, London364 Kensington High Street is a seven storey building originally constructed in 1945 as a car park and converted into offices in 1970. The current contract is to completely refurbish and re-clad the building for Fairgate Properties, including a new feature staircase and atrium. HPM are also acting for Universal Music Operations Ltd who are fitting out the building for their own use. Value £11m. The project required the integration of air conditioning services into the shallow ceiling void where it was necessary to pass the ducts through holes formed in the downstands of the reinforced concrete floor beams.
